Since the opening of Lombardia in 1972, the influences of gluten free food have been a key factor in the success of our business. Back in those days, not that many people were concerned about having gluten-free meals as a dietary choice but still a lot of people with allergic reactions to gluten were able to find their needs at Lombardia.
Later, when Alain transformed the health food store into a trendy lunch place, the gluten- and lactose free options became unlimited, resulting in a wide range of products such as gluten-free bread, pasta, whip cream, cookies, our famous sandwich spreads and of course our hot drinks!
On various occasions, Belgian television chef Piet Huysentruyt has invited Alain to be a guest in his television show, relying on his experience as a gluten-free expert. Alain and Piet have showcased some of the best gluten-free recipes on national television.
